On long flights lasting several hours, even the best and most advanced battery will not last for the entire duration of the flight. Switching over is necessary. However, this is often not as intuitive or straightforward as one might think. Our UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) provides the solution. It electronically monitors the voltage supplied to the avionics and, if a voltage drop is detected, switches on the main battery for 500 ms. Fully automatic and safe, for a stress-free flying experience.
- No more ‘blackouts’ when switching over the battery, meaning no damage to hardware and no loss of data (IGC file) whilst switching over the avionics batteries!
- Electronically monitored using state-of-the-art technology developed entirely from scratch by SOTECC.
- A tried-and-tested design by “Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau”, which fits the UPS as standard in all new aircraft
- Voltage range for Power+ and Avionic+: 9–16 V DC
- Standby power consumption: ~5mA
- Max. bypass current to Avionic+: 4.7 A (internally limited)
- Input (Power+) protected against reverse polarity
- Output (Avionic+) short-circuit-proof
- Internal self-resetting fuse
