Simple operation

The radio with its dot matrix display is easy to read so that the characters and symbols can be easily recognized. Memory channels and other settings can be made very easily by the user using the controls on the front panel. Pre-programming for the various functions further simplifies handling for the user.

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)

The ANC function (active noise cancellation) reduces the background noise of the transmitted and received signal. This function is particularly useful at airports, where the noise of engines or motors can significantly impair radio communication. The automatic noise limiter (ANL) acts on pulsed interference such as that caused by car ignitions --> the ANL and ANC functions cannot be used simultaneously.

Optional Bluetooth® headset can be used

If an optional Bluetooth® unit UT-133A is installed in the IC-A120E, the radio can be paired wirelessly with a Bluetooth® headset from another manufacturer. When using the optional Icom VS-3 Bluetooth® headset, the listen-in function is also available.

Dust and water-protected in accordance with IP54

The IC-A120E is protected against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with IP54. It can therefore be installed and operated on open vehicles without a cabin roof.

Automatic search and Dualwatch function

If the microphone is attached to the microphone holder and the corresponding function is activated, the search starts automatically. Alternatively, the Dualwatch function can also be switched on automatically when the microphone is attached. As soon as the microphone is removed from the holder, the search stops on the priority channel or the channel currently shown on the display, depending on the pre-programming.

Listening function

When using a third-party headset together with the optional OPC-871A headset adapter, you can listen to your own transmitted speech via the headset. You can also hear your own transmitted signal when using the hand-held microphone.

Optional loudspeaker microphone HM-217

Empfangssignale sind auch über den im Mikrofon HM-217 eingebauten Lautsprecher hörbar. Die auf der Mikrofon-Vorderseite vorhandenen Up-/Down-Tasten und die beiden programmierbaren Tasten (P1/P2) erlauben den direkten Zugriff auf häufig benötigte Funktionen.
